Vintage Mohawk-Shelburne Ratchet Brace Hand Drill – Model No. 1610
This antique Mohawk-Shelburne Ratchet Brace has a half-boxed ratchet, which means that backed of the ratchet is open. Also, the top handle and wrist handle are both solid hardwood and have a high quality stain for protection. Metal parts are polished steel. End of hand drill has adjustable drill chuck for different size bits. Drill ratchets in both directions. Originally released in 1931 as part of the Mohawk-Shelburne series of economy tools, the tool was sold up till 1944.
Drill is in working condition and operates as expected. Ratchet needs lubrication and metals parts need polishing. Wood handles have normal wear and tear, but are in great condition otherwise. This vintage hand drill is a terrific addition to any antique tool collection or current tool chest.
